Does anyone have recommendations for good fund-raising opportunities?

I am a member of a local (Southern Maryland) rugby club, and we have been having a very hard time with fund raising in our community. We are a non-profit organization, frequently active in charities for other organizations. We are looking to expand our programs with a youth team to raise interest in rugby as well as provide an additional activity option for local kids. Does anyone have recommendations for fund raising that has worked for other organizations?
